I only had the wood floors for about 2 years and they looked like they were over 10 years old. Finish was very dull and looked worn. I had someone come and refinish it for me and he told me that I was actually stripping the finish off when I was using the "wood floor cleaners" products that I would buy at the store. He recommended to me that I use the Bona-X and nothing else and I would see a big difference. It has been almost 5 years now and my floors still look like he just refinish them. You need to use the microfiber mop cover which they call it the micro-plus cover on the amazon. I'm sure if you go on the internet, you will find the mop to use this. I highly recommend this product. I got a spray bottle and just refill it that way as it is easier and lighter to carry and it doesn't take much to do your floors. Never leaves it dull anymore and it really does a great job cleaning dirt off. Amazon got a good price for this product.

I love my Kirby sweeper but couldn't find a store close by who sold Kirby sweeper bags. These bags are thicker than the older ones. They keep the dust in the bags, much better. I got my bags in a timely manner, which was good because I was out.

This vacuum was easy to assemble except for the accessory parts or attachments wasn't easy to find where to store them on this vac.Take time to select the proper height setting and you shouldn't have problems.I bought this to vacuum carpet. It really does a wonderful job and I'll compare it to the high dollars vacs myself. It does the job which is suck up dust and dirt and hair and leaves a clean path.It is heavy. If you have back issues you may have to vacuum a room at a time and rest or get something lighter. For the money, I agree that it is a best buy in a product that does what it is supposed to do.

Panasonic MC-UL675 AeroSpin Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner with Dirt Sensor, Sherbert Blue Review

Panasonic MC-UL675 AeroSpin Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner with Dirt Sensor, Sherbert Blue
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The saleswoman at my Best Buy store recommended this vacuum to me based on the previous Panasonic that they used to stock. I guess she figured that if the old one was so wonderful this new one mush be as well.

I got it home and there were a few things that I really liked. The fact that it automatically adjusted for different carpet heights, the retractable cord and the fact that it said the dirt cup was anti-static so as to release the dirt easier when emptying.

What I soon found out was that this vacuum has quite a few short comings. It is very top heavy. When standing up on carpet, the slightest touch will make it tumble backwards. The retractable cord which I was excited about ended up being rather short. I was not even able to vacuum my entire (average size) master bedroom without having to unplug it to finish. The lights that are supposed to tell you if they floor is clean or dirty are annoying and I think really just a gimmick. The turbo brush is really in an awkward spot on the handle and while pushing the vacuum in the reclined position, the hose continually falls out of the grove meant to hold it.

I finally decided to return it and purchase a Healthy Home. To my surprise, it turned out that the Panasonic really wasn't even working to well. I was able to vacuum my whole house and the dirt cut was about 1/2 full. They next day when I used the Healthy Home, I had to empty it after only doing my family room.

Bottom line, Don't bother with this Panasonic.

Miele S5280 Pisces Caniser Vacuum Cleaner w/205 Turbo-Brush Review

Miele S5280 Pisces Caniser Vacuum Cleaner w/205 Turbo-Brush
Average Reviews:

I have a dog who sheds (a lot) and my children and I have allergies and asthma. My allergist recommended that I vacuum every day.But the problem was that I *hated* vacuuming - my old vacuum got stuck under my kichen cabinets, had a short hose that couldn't reach high enough to do any dusting, and (although it was a 'hepa' model) it was dirty and dusty.Vacuuming was frustrating and irritating.

It was time for a new vacuum cleaner and so I went to an actual vacuum cleaner store to try out different models.Prior to that visit, I had never even heard of the Miele. After trying out several Dyson models, it was love at first sight with the Miele Callisto!I came home and vacuumed with my old Hoover wind tunnel, then immediately vacuumed with the Miele and couldn't believe how much it picked up!I'm not the type of person who could have ever imagined myself paying this much for a vacuum cleaner, but I'm so glad I did!!It was worth it!!

Here's my summary:

What I like:
* It's so easy to use that I don't mind vacuuming and dusting (as much!).
* The Miele picks up dog hair from all floor types - carpet, linoleum, tile, and hardwood.Yeah!
* I don't sneeze while I'm vacuuming because it's not spitting out any dusty exhaust.
* There's a special setting to use (with lower suction) for cleaning curtains.
* The hose is powered, so the beater brush is powered (I didn't care for the Miele models with air-powered brushes).
* The attachments (except for the hardwood floor attachment) fit on the unit so they won't get lost.
* The turbobrush head swivels, which makes it very easy to vacuum around tables, couches, whatever.
* The Miele has really good suction right up until it's time to change the bag.My Hoover would have great suction for a few times, and then went downhill fast!
* This Miele has a telescoping wand which makes it super easy to clean the tops of paintings, ceiling fans, and chandeliers.
* It's small, and light, and doesn't take up much space in my closet. My old Hoover was a tank... big, awkward, and heavy!

What I didn't like:
* The power cord is too short. If it was about 5' longer, it would be perfect.
* The consumables (bags, HEPA filter) are expensive.

All vacuums have an air exhaust somewhere on them.Incredibly, the Dirt Devil designers placed their's right up front just below the headlight, so air blows hard on the floor directly in front of the vacuuum. Anything loose (e.g., dog hair, dust, paper, grass, etc.) is blown away BEFORE you can reach it with the vacuum.Vacuuming with the Dirt Devil becomes a game of chase.Good luck as you try to sneak up on the dirt before its blown away from the vacuum. (Don't even TRY to use this lemon on a tile floor!)No wonder I got this on sale for 60 bucks. Looks like it's time for the Dirt Devil company to go in the dustbin.

Dryer Vent Vacuum Cleaner Attachment Review

Dryer Vent Vacuum Cleaner Attachment
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This product is not terrible, but I am not sure if it is the best dryer vent cleaning system out there. I was reluctant to get a vent "brush" because I couldn't imagine how a long-handle brush could get all the way down the vent and pick up excess lint...I was pretty sure that a brush would miss areas. The most attractive feature about this product is that you can attach it to your vacuum hose and literally suck out all the lint and other dirt/dust/crumbs/hair/tissue/etc. that could not be caught in the lint trap. My dryer's lint trap is located on the top of my dryer...it is a small flip open top and you basically pull out the long, rectangular lint trap.

The product is basically as shown in the photo...although I imagine it is easier to clean a dryer like the one depicted in the photo. One third of the attachment is a hard plastic tube that fits over your vacuum hose attachment, and the rest is a soft plastic (bendable) hose that actually does reach all the way down my dryer's lint vent. I have also found that this vent vac hose can be used to vacuum other areas of the house that the traditional vacuum hose attachment cannot get to. Examples: under the refrigerator and other various appliances, a/c vents, in small crevasses or under furniture pieces that are close to the ground. The concept of this tool is great, but there is one problem.

When shipped by the distributor (item does not come from Amazon), they packaged it so badly that by the time I opened it up, the hose was very bent...to the point where it created two large creases on the soft plastic hose. I left it out in the sun for a while to soften up so I could re-shape it, but the creases still remained. While this isn't a huge problem, when using the vent vac hose, it has a tendency to close itself off at these creases...thus, airflow is stopped. I had to pull it out of the vent several times to re-shape it but it would continue to do so. After a while, I decided to put my hand down the dryer vent as far as possible to hold the plastic hose at the point where it would pinch itself off...and that did seem to help. It was pretty annoying, however.

All in all, a great concept and I suppose that if it is packaged/shipped with more care, the problem with the hose closing itself off would not happen. The price is right, however, and I was still able to get plenty of lint out that probably had been stuck in the dryer vent for years...so it did do the job, it was just a trying process at times.

I am smitten.

We had a Panasonic last us a dozen years, once upon a time, and in the decade since, we've gone through at least half a dozen vacuum cleaners.I've "splurged" on high-end Bissell machines, and I've taken my chances on a $30 clearance-rack machines (the WORST was that Dirt Devil upright...unbelievably loud, smelly, eegads...fortunately it burned out after a mere three months). At best, they've lasted a couple of years, limping along with broken plastic parts for most of that time.

This time around, I thought I'd take the plunge and see if maybe, just maybe, spending REAL money would save in the long run. After a stainless-steel, American-made Metropolitan vacuum arrived with a broken and terribly frail powerhead, I went off to the vacuum superstore and looked at everything else.I made my choice with confidence after the salesman encouraged me to jump up and down on the Miele Leo, stomp and twist the hose, bend the cover over the tool storage compartment, and yank on the retractible cord.

With 11 kids in the house, a dog with long, thick fur, four cats, and various other critters, we are not a lightweight-vacuum household. And even Miele's nozzles are by far the sturdiest I've ever seen.

Moreover, the Leo (I actually got a Gemini, the equivalent model available through Diamond dealers) is exceedingly quiet, it's casters are extremely agile, and every part snaps on soundly and firmly. The bags are thick, quilted things complete with self-closing flaps for clean disposal. The exhaust smells like fresh air. It's not heavy, but it is solid. It just feels like a luxury machine.Even the kids and the husband are smitten with it.

The downside, of course, is price. That S236 Power Nozzle alone costs more than most of the other machines we've owned.A simple upholstery nozzle is an eye-popping $30.I've had to install shelves and hooks in the basement, to keep these treasures stowed in a worthy manner.

But overall, I'm feeling spoiled rotten, with little doubt that this machine will last well past the 10 years I figure it will need to become cost-effective (based on the cumulative price of all those throw-away machine's we've owned).Miele's own philosophy (one I heartily applaud) is that everything they make should last for 20 years. If only more companies would operate on the same principal!

Miele Eco Friendly Earth Canister Vacuum Cleaner S5481
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I wrote a lengthy review of this vacuum for my website (feel free to check it out if you want -- see video for URL), but for Amazon I'll summarize it: this is a great vacuum. I haven't had experience with other Miele models, but if this thing is any indication, Miele makes a line of excellent machines. Here is a quick rundown of SOME (but not all) of the advantages and disadvantages of this unit:

Pros:
+Excellent filtration (as good as it gets)
+Quieter than any vacuum I've ever heard
+Low ground clearance
+Well designed/engineered in pretty much every aspect (I love the cord winder, wheels, bags, auto-shutoff, etc!)
+Looks really slick while still subdued (doesn't scream "I'm a Dyson!")

Cons:
-Typical disadvantages of being a canister vac. Sometimes difficult to maneuver around corners/doors, sometimes a pain trying to reposition hose.
-Attaching/detaching certain tools and the wand itself can be a little awkward at times
-Price is steep!

The bottom line is that if you can afford it, you absolutely can't go wrong with this vacuum (or presumably any Miele). I give it 5 stars because, while not *perfect*, it certainly is the best vacuum I've ever seen or used...and by a landslide.

Note: If you have carpet, I'd recommend any model in the S5 line (except the Pisces, which doesn't include a powered brush head). For primarily hard floors, any of the Miele models should meet your needs.

Sanitaire Professional S9020 Ligthweight Heavy Duty Upright Vacuum Cleaner Commercial. Review

Sanitaire Professional S9020 Ligthweight Heavy Duty Upright Vacuum Cleaner Commercial.
Average Reviews:

I have used this product for the past month and would make the following observations:

Pros:
- Very easy to assemble upon delivery (5 minutes). You will need a Phillips screwdriver for a couple of screws; that's all.
- Very lightweight.
- Good suction.
- Very easy to maneuver.
- Works well on both carpet and hardwood floor (have noticed no scratching of hardwood).
- It comes with an Arm & Hammer cloth type disposable bag that is a breeze to install and I have not noticed any dust leakage.Much better bag than the common paper type and I was able to easily order the same bags on the Web.
- Rubber bumpers around the front and side edges.
- Oversize rear wheels, with soft rubber trim, makes for smooth maneuvering on bare floors.
- The vacuum is a very simple, lightweight, clean design machine. No frills.

Cons:
- Loud (thus my 4 stars versus 5 stars)! It has a small amp motor that has a high pitch tone (not uncommon for this type motor).I almost returned the vacuum for that reason. But, I really liked the vacuum as a whole, therefore, I tried some soft foam ear plugs (cotton balls worked also) and it solved my issue.Note: Noise is subjective.Others may not have the same criticism.

Summary:
I was looking for a lightweight, simple (no attachments) vacuum that I could use on carpet and flooring (and of course it had to have good suction) that would do the job without breaking the bank.I did my homework/research and decided upon this fairly new model from Sanitaire (by Electrolux).I use it in my home and only in my home. So far, so good.

This is my 6th vacuum in 23 years of marriage. For the price, I expected a little more....It's pretty much like my old Kenmore, lots of plastic.I wish the cord were a bit longer and would stay in the socket. It comes out pretty easily and I have to go back and keep replugging it in.I have cats, and it does a good job with picking up the fur. Both the power head and the hard floor nozzle are too wide for getting behing places my Kenmore, hard floor attachment could easily get behind.I can get under some furniture I couldn't get under with the power head on the Kenny..
The vacuum itself is compact and light weight. It maneuvers throughout the house easily moving from tile, to laminate to plush carpet.
I bought it because I've heard it lives a long time...my other units including the sanitaire, which cost about the same as the Meile, died very young...I've heard the Miele lives sometimes 20 years...which is like my mother's vacuum, which lived about 50 years!
So, if the Miele people are reading...please make the cord a foot or so longer, with a three prong, plug and the hard floor tool a little more narrow.

Product Description:
A vacuum cleaner designed to make life with pets more comfortable. You would never give up sharing your home with your pet. You could never get along without the love and joy that comes along with a beloved cat or dog. They're simply a part of the family. Unfortunately, one of the downsides is having to live with persistent odors and thousands of loose hairs on your furniture and flooring. It's a problem most of us are willing to accept. To solve this problem, Miele introduces the Cat & Dog: A special machine with a powerful motor and powerbrush to remove pet hairs and a unique, active charcoal filter system that efficiently removes odors from the exhaust air. Here's how: Airflow is the secret to removing all those pet hairs and odors. It helps lift them from smooth surfaces, pulls them off furniture and clears them from the corners and nooks. The secret behind the airflow is a powerful, 1200-watt motor. Despite its incredible power, it's also exceptionally quiet; so quiet, you'll even be able to hear the phone or doorbell ring. The unique rib cage design allows air to circulate around the entire dustbag, preventing clogs and maximizing airflow, even as the dustbag fills. The completely sealed system reduces suction loss and ensures the thorough removal of all particles and odors from the exhaust air. The Miele Active Air Clean filter combines two incredible mediums into one, superb design. One technology filters the air of microscopic particles; the other removes odors. Sandwiched in a plastic casing between two layers of electrostatic filters is a dense layer of Generally Activated Charcoal (GAC). GAC is designed to remove all types of odors; pet odors, smoke even perfumes. Once these particles come in contact with the charcoal, they are locked in place permanently. The electrostatic filters use static electricity to capture airborne particles and remove them from the airflow. Perfect with homes with Pet Hair

iRobot 53501 Roomba 500 Series Vacuum Cleaning Robot with Self-Charging Home Base Review

iRobot 53501 Roomba 500 Series Vacuum Cleaning Robot with Self-Charging Home Base
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I just received my Roomba 535 and I couldn't be more pleased. My primary concern before purchasing was whether or not it would have sufficient suction and coverage to really clean my carpets; after running it several times, this is no longer a concern. It's a hungry little devil, and I'm floored by the amount of dust, hair, and debris that it captures. On the first 4 runs alone, I had to empty the bin 7 times. At this point, it's picking up less as the carpets have become drastically cleaner, and daily maintenance should keep it that way.

Aside from pickup power, it also does a great job of navigating my nontraditional layout, and intelligently avoids things like my knotted leather rug that can't be vacuumed. Daily cleaning is as simple as tapping the "Clean" button with my toe on my way out the door each morning, and I come home to beautifully cleaned carpet.

It does seem to have a bit of trouble getting back to its dock from time to time, but it's pretty fun to watch it try. I'm a little embarrassed to say that I find myself quietly cheering it on to success when it goes looking for the dock.

I would highly recommend this product; not only does it do a great job cleaning and providing full-floor coverage, but it's really fun to have around as well.

Product Description:
With its enhanced design, including improved navigation, coverage, pickup, and filtration, this vacuum-cleaning robot makes it easier then ever to clean floors throughout the house--hands free. Simply press the "clean" button and the unit will vacuum the whole floor on its own, adjusting automatically to any floor surface including wood, tile, linoleum, rugs, and carpet. The vacuum's dual, high-speed, counter-rotating brushes pick up everything from tracked-in dirt by the front door to food crumbs on the kitchen floor to pet hair throughout the house. It also provides anti-tangle technology with auto reverse, innovative spinning side brushes to ensure thorough cleaning in corners and along baseboards, and a gentle-touch bumper that senses obstacles so that it can slow down and carefully clean around them. The unit's dirt sensor will direct the cleaning time and focus where it's needed most, and its low-profile design means easy cleaning under beds, couches, and other hard-to-reach areas. Another thoughtful detail includes its ability to schedule preset cleaning times--great for coming home to a clean house after a long day at the office. Even more, the cleaner comes with built-in cliff sensors that prevent it from falling down stairs and a Virtual Wall system, which allows for setting up invisible barriers that confine the unit to a designated area. The vacuum's large dustbin empties easily, and its improved filtration system traps dust, pollen, and other allergens, helping to ensure only clean air gets released back into the room. For added convenience, the vacuuming robot automatically returns to its self-charging Home Base to dock and recharge between cleaning cycles or when the battery starts to run low. Accessories include a bumper extension, a brush cleaning tool, a power adapter, a rechargeable battery, one extra filter, one Virtual Wall Lighthouse, and four "C" batteries for the Virtual Walls.

I have had my eye on the Ladybug steamer for months now, drooling over all it could do but it was far out of my price range. I own the Envirosteamer steam floor mop and love it, but I wanted something to get into tight spaces like around the toilet, in the tub, the oven, etc. With some Santa money I got more serious about purchasing a canister steamer in addition to my floor steamer and began some comparative testing and studying. Fortunately, I live in a neighborhood that is all "green built certified" which means, in order to have a green rating, all homes were built with no carpet and lots of people hate chemicals which means it's a neighborhood full of steam mops which makes comparing the models quite easy. That's a good thing because it just saved me over a thousand bucks because I wound up no longer wanting the Ladybug. CORD LENGTH: (so you don't have to stop, unplug, water cools some, replug in)
V-18 feet
L-15 ft
H-18 feet
R-8 feet
recap: An 8' cord is INSANE. I couldn't even get across my kitchen counter or walk around my bed to steam all of the mattress without using an extension cord!

STEAM TEMPERATURE
V-256 degrees
L-297 degrees
H-212 degrees
R-218 degrees
Note: These temperatures are based upon using the small hose attachments. In every case that we used the long hose attachment included to turn these into a floor mop, the steam had to travel down the long hose so it cooled and wound up only being about 115 degrees by the time it reached the floor. Which results in very poor cleaning. Because of this, if you are wanting this mostly for floor steaming, I would suggest going with a steamer that shoots out hot steam directly onto the floor from its tank rather than through a long hose before reaching the floor as a canister mop does.

TIME TO HEAT UP:
V-10 min
L-8 min
H-3 min
R-5 min

WATER TANK:
V-1.6 liters
L-1.8+1.5 quarts
H-20 oz
R 2 liters

CLEANING:
For a controlled cleaning test, I mixed Dr. Pepper with sugar and spread it evenly across a 4' length of my stained concrete floor and kept the pets away until it dried completely in a gunky mess.I then tested each mop against it in lengthwise strips, moving them at the same pace after a full heat up, as well as testing each on its own strip of bathroom tile & grout. Here's who performed the best:
Tie: Ladybug and Vapamore. These, due to the really hot temps, loosened the gunk on impact and made it VERY easy to clean my floor. Their hot temps and heavier steam also cleaned tile the best but Vapamore actually did aBETTERjob on uneven surfaces like tile with grout..but don't expect shiny white grout because it wasn't exactly returned to looking brand new either.
2nd place:Haan...but it wasn't nearly as good as the above two.
Last place: Reliable. Although the steam temp is hotter than the Haan, it doesn't shoot out as strongand only had 5 steam jets so this diminished its effectivenessDidn't come close to the V or L.

All were at temps to kill bacteria and sanitize without using chemicals such as counters and mattresses, unless you tried to turn it into a floor mop which I don't suggest because the steam was too cool to clean as well as a real floor steam mop made for that purpose..Other notes: The ladybug was the most awkward to carry. It just wasn't made for carrying up stairs, etc. Conclusion: Considering the Ladybug is over a thousand dollars more than any of the other mops, this was a real eye opener! I tested these with my friends and we all agreed, hands down, that the Vapamore was the best buy. And I love it! It cleaned the best BUT the Ladybug lasted much longer as far as cleaning time. However, Vapamore cleaned for 50 minutes prior to needing a refill which, for me, is all I need. That said, if you want to use this commercially and don't want to have to take time to refill, the Ladybug may be worth the steep price for you. Considering they have the same 3 year warranty though, I'd rather buy 4 Vapamores for the price of one Ladybug and have one in every room.I kid.The Reliable seemed to lack things that were just silly...like having a cord longer than my blow dryer and only having 5 steam jets.

First off, i'd like to tell you a little about myself so that you can understand my view when writing this review:I am the type of person that has to do all the cleaning myself because I want it done a certain way, and no other way will do because it has to be just "perfect".Luckily, my husband was willing to learn "my way" and he does it that way and I don't have to worry about it.I am VERY picky about my cleaning.I used a lot of bleach for disinfecting and used to buy bleach by the gallons at Sam's Club because not only would I bleach my bathrooms, countertops, etc, but I would fill a mop bucket with bleach water and bleach my tile floors. When I clean, it's CLEAN.However, about 9 months ago I discovered "steam", and I thought, well, it's still killing germs, etc, etc, but, and i'm not using all of that bleach on the floors.Cause, let's face it, even though I would mop with the bleach water and do two buckets of clean water to rinse the floor, there's still going to be residue from the cleaner - bottom line.

So, as I said, I discovered the Steam mop.Went to the store, bought the Shark. My 88 year old Grandma was with me that day, she too bought the Shark.Ok, let me just say, I LOVED the concept of using the steam on the floor instead of mopping and using all of that bleach.WAS NOT happy with the pumping and pumping and pumping and pumping and pumping you have to do to get it to produce the steam. What a pain in the @## that is.Turns out, it's way more of a workout than mopping. You are sweating up a storm by the time you are done.It was getting my floors clean, it was, however the effort it took to get them there was more that I was willing to do.In the meantime, my mother became curious about steam cleaning as well, because, quite frankly, she too was tired of the mop and bucket.I figured there had to be a better option than this pumping my @## off stuff, so I started looking online and at first had picked out another brand of a "continuous steam" type steamer.I figured, ok, let me go to the local Vaccuum Store in town and see if they carry it.They did not carry that particular brand I was looking to purchase, however, they did carry the HAAN.Of course, I had never heard of this brand before, but they swore that it was much better than that other brand I was mentioning and assured me I would like it.So, on a whim, I bought the original Haan FS-20 (the yellow and white one). That was earlier this year.Let me tell you, I have not picked up a mop and bucket since like April of this year.It is such a pleasure to mop (if i can even call it mopping) the floors now.My tile floors are clean, and I mean, residue-free clean.I know it's killing the germs, etc, and it is so easy, literally a child, or husband :) could do this.I am serious. You just simply fill the tank of the boiler, and it boils the water to produce the steam. The floors are so clean and residue free, that if you are wearing nice clean socks, you're liable to slide on the tile.Well, my mother became jealous of this NEW steamer because when I got the original HAAN, I had given her my Shark to use.And although she loved the concept as I did, the pumping was a pain for her as well.NOW, she wants what I got.Let me tell you, I tell EVERYONE about my steam mop.Matter of fact, I've gotten about 4 ladies at work steaming their floors now.One lady says, oh, I get down on my hands and knees".I'm like, FORGET THAT!Get a HAAN.And she did.I got people steamin' all over the place.ahahha.OK~ SO~Fastforward~

I saw that they came out with this new "SLim and Light" contraption.HMMMMM, that looks really, really nice.I wonder how it works?well, I read and read and read reviews.NOW, I want one of THESE!!!(I still love my original Haan FS-20, but this looks even BETTER!!)Let me just say, these people that give this new Slim and Light a bad rap because it didn't make their 30 year old warn out linoleum look brand new, or pick up all of their kids leftover food on the floor, or didn't pick up a clump of dried stuck-on something that had been there for two weeks, COME ON PEOPLE!!!There are limitations to everything.First of all, IT IS NOT A VACCUUM, nor does it ever claim to be.YES, you do have to vaccuum first.Coming from a person that has two labrador retrievers, you must vaccuum. And you should anyway. It steam cleans, it does not pick up a pile of cheerios or doggie hair tumbleweeds.VACCUUM FIRST!!!Also, yes, steaming times on one tank of water will vary, depending on how fast or slow you push the steamer. Some people say, oh, one tank only lasted me through doing the kitchen, well, if you go really slow, like i do to make sure i'm getting it real good, yes, you will have to refill by the time you get to the dining room. Some people move the steamer around faster, covering more area quickly, and get all of their floors done on the one tank. That's fine too.I am just a little unclear on how fast to actually move the steamer over a certain area in order for it to be cleaning effectively, so, I go slower and refill the tank more often.Whatever, doesn't matter really.

I decided to get my Mother and Grandmother one for Christmas this year. By this time, both Mom and Grandma had stopped using their Shark and had gone back to mopping at this point.I did order them the new Slim and Light for Christmas this year.I was so excited to give this to them, I could not wait.I COULD NOT WAIT to bust it out of the box and try it for myself, just could not wait. Also, I just had to try this new mop because another lady at work wants to go to steam cleaning and wants to buy the HAAN, but, wasn't sure if she wanted the original HAAN like I had, or if she would like the new S & L better.SO, i suggested to her...... let Mom and Grandma open theirs on Christmas, I'll use it and let you know which one I like better between the two, because after all, at this point, I had only read reviews and seen pictures of it on the web.She thought that was a good idea.So she was waiting with baited breath to find out which one she was going to buy!!WOW, is this NICE!!!Ok, so, now, how do I tell my husband I want the new S & L without him getting mad?hmmm, i'm going to have to work on that because I have GOT TO get me one of these.Mom loves it.She has steamed her floors every day since Christmas.

Ok.........

PROS:

~Light.
~Cute
~Tank pops off the back and you can just refill and go
~The long handle and the shape of the handle make it really easy to use, no bending over.
~Head is very low profile and will go under (but not completely under, mind you) the stove, cabinets, fridge, etc.(depending on the height of your appliances)
~Pads are re-washable.Take them off, throw them in the wash with your clothes, throw them in the dryer with your clothes.
~Super easy to push, NO PUMPING REQUIRED.
~You are not sweating up a storm when you are finished.
~You know your floors are getting clean, truly clean without any chemical residue
~It WILL remove some stains or stuck on stuff (IF) you hold it over the spot for about 10 seconds or so.
~It comes with the carpet tray attachment so you can freshen your carpet, couch, bedding, mattress, dog bed, etc).IT IS NOT STANLEY STEAMER!!!NOR DOES IT CLAIM TO BE!It WILL NOT steam clean your carpets like Stanley Steamer. There is a difference. However, it will help loosen a stain so that it can be cleaned out of the carpet, and it will take the smell out from a pet accident, etc.It freshens because it is killing mold, dust mites, bacteria, etc.
~Husbands and children can use!!Can we say BONUS!!!CONS:

~Cord is a little shorter than the Shark, BUT, that is peanuts compared to the ease and positive benefits. No big deal.NOTES:

~What's the difference between the FS-20 and the new S & L?Well, the FS-20 works on a boiler system, basically you fill the tank, it boils the water to produce continuous steam. The S & L uses an internal pump. You WILL hear a slight fluttering noise as the mop is pumping the steam out for you. This is normal.(I have actually found that the steam comes out more vigorously on the new S & L than mine because it is being pumped out).

~Wear shoes or at least socks when steaming the floors. You may not think that it is steaming all that much, but let me tell you, if you get it too close to your foot, and it burns the skin in between your toes, you'll know it!!(obviously a personal experience).

~Don't be a cheap @##.Buy distilled water to use in the machine. It will keep it from getting all crusty and crudded up with mineral deposits like your coffee pot does.I use only distilled water. The machine will last longer this way and the steam jets won't get clogged.

~Take the pad off the unit and throw it in the wash or at least the hamper when you are done steaming. If you let it sit on the unit after you've used it and store it that way, the pad can get musty smelling.

~My advise, buy 2 extra pads. You can never have enough.

~If you've been steaming for a while and the pad starts to get saturated, just put a new pad on.This will avoid the complaining of streaking on the floors as some people state.

Miele S7280 Salsa Upright Vacuum Cleaner (Mango Red) Review

Miele S7280 Salsa Upright Vacuum Cleaner
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Spent good money to put high end Berber carpet in the house with persian carpets in the main formal area, then found out the challenges of having a single machine manage the cleaning without ruining the investment! The rollers that spin to create the air fow can catch the loops! I looked at lots of options from Simplicity to Dyson and the Miele 7280 was the Lexus of them all.One boundary condition for us was an upright.

The Miele has the same hinged movement as the Dyson so it is very easy to move around and the attachments are plug and play with simple end member push ins, it is very seamless to go from wood floors to marble to Berber carpet to attachments. LED headlights and the ability to go flat for under furniture are a big plus.I am using the suction only which is adjustable for now until I need to run the brush for a deep clean, by itself it does a great job. The HEPA filter is the best in business which was also a consideration.

What really sets off this Vacuum is the design, it is very high end at a reasonable price of $750.I am considering leaving it out of the closet it looks that good! The Dyson looks like a plastic toy and the Slimplicity looks like something my grandmother still uses, this is the Mercedes of Vacuum cleaners.

Sebo Vacuum Cleaner Service Box Review

Took my old Eureka into the local shop for repair a few years ago and the owner said it would cost $50 to fix it, but it wouldn't be worth the money.Instead he showed me a Sebo.I liked it but about croaked when he told me the price.

After wavering for the next 45 minutes, I finally bought it and brought it home.My wife about croaked when I told HER the price...

Since that day, hardly a week has gone by that someone in the family doesn't mention how nice our Sebo is.With 4 humans, 3 cats and 2 dogs, there's always a lot of dirt to pick up.Yet our floors continue to look like new because this little sucker gets it all.

The two best parts: it's super easy to change the bags andfilters and clean the brush, and the filters really work.No more dust flying around while vacuuming.

I purchased this service box after owning the Sebo for three years, so I'm way late in changing out the filters.Doesn't seem to have hurt anything, though.

And, I just found out my local shop (where I bought the vacuum) sells them for less than Amazon.Shouldn't surprise me because his price on the vacuum was lower than I could find it online.

Buy a Sebo! (And buy locally if you can!)
